ITS QUITE UNFORTUNATE TO NOT HAVE A CHEERLEADING SECTION. WE DID PEP RALLY'S. GIFT BAGS. CARWASHES. THERE ARE MORE INJURIES IN CHEERLEADING THAN ANY OTHER SPORT--LOOK IT UP. EVEN WHEN THE MARLINS WERE DOWN BY TWO OR UP BY THIRTY WE JUMPED AND CHEERED AND KEPT OUT VASELINE SMILES. THE ONLY PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE TO COME FROM BAYSIDE(I THINK) WAS A GORGEOUS CHEERLEADER BY THE NAME OF COURTNEY JARRET

but neely, you're not one of those people. From a family of golfers, you can't be saying that.

After watching Court bust her a$$ in college and shine as a pro, I have total respect for cheerleaders who are dedicated to their craft.

Jeremie - I always say if you can drink beer while playing something, then it's not really a sport. Actually my parents would probably cut me out of the will if they heard me say that. lol

Well, I can't play softball without a keg in the dugout.

If it's not a sport if you can drink while doing it, why are bowling, billiards, poker, fishing and NASCAR shown on ESPN?

Are the NASCAR drivers drinking while they're driving??? I sure hope not.

I can tell you I'd have to be drinking heavily to WATCH those sports. lol

I think NASCAR is on ESPN b/c of the money it brings in! Living here in Charlotte, I get a first hand look at all of the people. We have the Coca-Cola 600 coming up in May (I am very happy I'll be in NY that weekend!!) and downtown Charlotte is completely blocked off for mini-races, ending in front of the bar I work in. I went to one race last October and had to leave on the 42nd lap!

It depends on how you look at it, Cause there are people in the stands at the Nascar races Drunk. I believe there is a one cooler per person limit. At least thats what they tell me!

I went to my first NASCAR event last year at Martinsville. I think everyone there was drunk; the fans, the drivers, the kids... I figured,"when in rome," so I took off my shirt, popped open a brew and tried to blend. Jeremie would have been proud.

I know I am a little late on the cheerleading debate. JC is right CHEERLEADING IS A SPORT and I am still have trouble with one of my knees that I injured my senior year. We cheered for every sport except for Golf and Track and Field. I don't what cheer we would have used for that.

I just wanted to say hi to JC...this section cracked me up! (although it was funny how we changed topics from cheerleading to Nascar!)
Thanks for the compliments I hung up my Pro pom pons this year...but I'm still judging and choreographing.
Cheerleading definitely is a sport in my book (especially in today's time). I still have injuries that I sustained in college and during my first years on Ravens...but I wouldn't change a thing...except maybe make sure the guys didn't drop me in college ;)

Cheerleading isn´t really a sport, since you don´t really compete face to face with another team.In case you say that cheerleaders compete with the the other team´s cheerleaders,it´s wrong since that would be a dance contest and not a sport...Cheerleaders are hot though

IF CHEERLEADERS DONT COMPETE FACE TO FACE THEN WHY ARE THERE SO MANY COMPETITIONS LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY. HOWEVER IF YOU NEVER CHEERED YOU CANT UNDERSTAND THE ENDURANCE AND ADRENALINE WHEN YOU HAVE 2 AND HALF MINUTES TO SHOW YOUR BEST. CHEERLEADERS DONT ONLY CHEER FOR SCHOOL SPORTS, FOR MOST OF US THAT WAS PRACTICE FOR THE COMPETITION......SPIRIT FINGERS
