One idea to satify everyone is to have a family picnic style event, could be inside or out during the day and a more formal event (like a cocktail party, etc) that evening or another day. I've seen the "family" events take place at the school, so there's minimal cost for that.

Let me be the first to throw out some hard dates. The first or second weekends in October will be the only ones I will be able to be in VB for. Oct 7,8 is wide open and I will be there anyway Oct 14,15. My job will have me working a lot of weekends during that part of the year, but I know that those two will be empty for me. Does either of those work for you's guys?

I would personally prefer the first weekend in october myself. You know why I'll be home the 14 & 15th anyway and I dont know how available I would be. I hope the majority of the site users can agree on one of those dates though. My vote is for Oct 7,8.

I vote for October 7th and 8th. I like the idea of family day one day and then all the adults with sitters or without kids can go out that night!!
My birthday is Oct. 9th so this is perfect for me!!!
I'm down for whateva!! I can't do the Spirit of Norfolk cause I hate cruises but I guess like high school if everyone else is doing it I will too!! Just a little humor!! I'm ready to get this party started cause I'm too legit too quit, Word up on the TLC tip!! Fresh, Dope!! |

I was going to suggest the Lake Wright also. We need to have a plan b, just in case the Grand Affairs idea just doesn't work out.

I had previously stated that I would be able to attend that weekend, but I just had my region meeting for softball and our region tournament will be that weekend. I don't see how it could be possible for me to attend that weekend, unless we go 2 and out (double elimination), but I won't know until the last minute. For now, count me out unless the weekend changes. I'll keep checking the message board for updates
